πŸ‘‹ Welcome

πŸ‘‹ Hey there

I'm End, also known as Endcrypt.

I started playing Minecraft when I was 11. My cousin showed it to me, and I got hooked right away, especially with the multiplayer aspect. I began with Pocket Edition, which people now call Bedrock. I ran my first server using PocketMine, server software written in PHP. I really got into plugins, especially one called Slappers, which allowed the use of NPCs on my server. That plugin was the starting point for me.

Fast forward to 2020, I got my first laptop. After spending years playing Bedrock, I finally had the chance to try Java Edition. I joined several servers in search of one where I could grind and have fun. Eventually, I found an SMP server based in the US. I'm from the Philippines, but I made a lot of friends there and had a great time.

While checking their Discord, I saw the server owner having trouble with plugins. That moment reignited my motivation. I started helping out in any way I could. One day while playing, I thought, why not make my own server?

So I did.

I launched a server called FallenSkyMC, based in the Philippines. I started it mostly out of boredom during the COVID pandemic. At first, it was just a small semi-vanilla survival server. But after about a month, people began joining every day. The server grew quickly, and I had an excellent staff team helping me manage everything. I am very thankful to them because I definitely could not have done it alone.

πŸ”§ How I got into Java

There was a time when I wanted a plugin that worked like the Mayor system in Hypixel Skyblock. I searched everywhere but couldn’t find anything similar. That’s when I thought, what if I just created it myself?

That was the beginning of my journey in learning Java. It was my first real programming language. Learning Java was tough. I had to grasp how variables, arrays, and all the basic concepts worked. Once I got the hang of it, I discovered Spigot and how plugins are built for Java servers.

I started with simple things like commands, such as /tp, /gmc, and /gms. Later, I began working on a plugin called Kings that I developed for a Kingdom type server. It was similar to the Mayor system from Hypixel, but players could vote for a king instead. Looking back, it seems a bit silly, but I still view it as my first real success as a developer.

🌿 AetheriumMC and Growing as a Developer

In 2024, I opened a new server called AetheriumMC, which is a survival RPG server. Around that time, the Minecraft community began to shift toward model-based gameplay. Seeing how models changed the feel of servers sparked my interest in developing again.

That's why I created AetheriumMC. It focused on survival and RPG elements and used many custom models to offer a fresh experience in Minecraft. While it wasn't the most efficient setup, especially given the limits of resource packs, I learned a lot from it.

AetheriumMC was crucial to my growth as a programmer. It became more than just writing code. I started to learn proper programming practices, better project structure, and how to tackle problems more professionally. This experience shaped how I code today and made me care more about the quality of what I build, not just whether it works.
